Row Hampton
July 21, 1975—January 22, 2019

Row Hampton, 43, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Fort Worth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 28th at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Chad Monk and Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday evening at Cowboy Church of Erath County. Stephenville Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements for Row.

Row was born on July 21, 1975 in Stephenville to Johnny Wayne and Barbara Richardson Hampton. He graduated from Huckabay High School in 1994. He attended Vernon College on a rodeo scholarship. He was a member of the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin, and was a lifelong resident of Erath County. Row was a Cowboy. Row did things on Row’s own time. He loved the outdoors, especially the ranch, and he loved to fish. He always made sure to be on the good end of a trade. He proudly lived by the motto “Once a hustler, always a hustler”. Row’s family was the most important thing in his life. His most treasured moments were the times that he spent with Barb and drinking coffee with Mimi. He was also most proud of his nephews, Marty and Kason.

Row is survived by his mother, Barbara; sisters, Angie Hampton Yates and J. J. Hampton; brother, Ricky Prince; grandmother, Helen Hampton; uncle, Ronnie Jack Hampton and Rita; nephews, Kason Prince and Marty Yates; girlfriend Taylor Wharton; family, Trent Walls, Cody Ohl, and Jayme Marcrum; and his dog, Shay.

Row was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wayne Hampton; paternal grandfather, Johnnie Hampton; brother, Marty Paul Yates; maternal grandparents, Hallie and Woody Richardson.

The Hampton family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Johnny Wayne Hampton Memorial Scholarship.

Oh, sweet, crazy Row... my heart doesn’t know how to accept this. I never expected to know sadness like this, where you’re involved. You were the source of most of the laughs that left my sides & face hurting... so, how do we all go on w out the crazy tantics of Row Hampton?? Right this second, I can’t even imagine how that’s going to happen.. I know it’s going to take lots of prayers, and leaning on each other to figure it out. 💔 I know without a doubt, that you’d tell us to think of all the good times & smile.. be happy, bcuz “life’s too short to live any other way.” I read those words you said to me in a text msg about a month ago. So, that’s what I promise you I’m going to do. To the best of my ability, that is. I honestly don’t think you knew how much you truly meant to so many people. But, I know you see it now, from your seat up there, in Heaven, next to your Daddy, (big) Marty & so many others who have gone on before.. do me a favor & look my brother up.. I’m sure you’ve finally met him, like we use to talk about.. you just got to go first... 😢 there will never be another Jimbob Tallman. 😇 I am so blessed to be able to call you “friend” sweet boy. You’re the best of the best. Thank you so much for always being my true friend... Gosh, my heart.. 💔
I just miss you... and, oh sweet Shay.. it’s gonna take her some time.. but I know she’s going to be well taken care of. If I see her in town, I’ll make sure she has some sweet tea, while she sits in the front seat of the truck... oh, your love for her was known by all who ever met you... 😇💙
Fly high w the angels, Row... you are missed & loved beyond words... today, tomorrow & forever...
