Row was born on July 21, 1975 in Stephenville to Johnny Wayne and Barbara Richardson Hampton. He graduated from Huckabay High School in 1994. He attended Vernon College on a rodeo scholarship. He was a member of the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin, and was a lifelong resident of Erath County. Row was a Cowboy. Row did things on Row’s own time. He loved the outdoors, especially the ranch, and he loved to fish. He always made sure to be on the good end of a trade. He proudly lived by the motto “Once a hustler, always a hustler”. Row’s family was the most important thing in his life. His most treasured moments were the times that he spent with Barb and drinking coffee with Mimi. He was also most proud of his nephews, Marty and Kason.
Row is survived by his mother, Barbara; sisters, Angie Hampton Yates and J. J. Hampton; brother, Ricky Prince; grandmother, Helen Hampton; uncle, Ronnie Jack Hampton and Rita; nephews, Kason Prince and Marty Yates; girlfriend Taylor Wharton; family, Trent Walls, Cody Ohl, and Jayme Marcrum; and his dog, Shay.
Row was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wayne Hampton; paternal grandfather, Johnnie Hampton; brother, Marty Paul Yates; maternal grandparents, Hallie and Woody Richardson.
The Hampton family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Johnny Wayne Hampton Memorial Scholarship.
